OREX Technologies
International (OTI), an operating unit of Isolyser, was formed
in October 1998 to expand Isolyser’s portfolio of technologies
and develop the applications expertise required to realize full
commercial value from the unique OREX disposable technology for
a host of waste reduction possibilities.
OTI’s portfolio of
proprietary technologies includes a variety of materials and
treatment and disposal systems. These technologies provide
alternatives to traditional contamination control and waste
reduction methods. OTI products are derived from a family of
thermoplastic polymers, including hot-water soluble PVA
(polyvinyl alcohol) that may be configured into woven or
non-woven fabrics and films, as well as thermoformed and
extruded goods.
Isolyser’s designed products
are not only performance cost effective, the products may also
be dissolved after use in specially designed units for waste reduction and treatment . Through its innovations, OTI
offers ecologically sound solutions to waste reduction and
disposal challenges across a broad range of industries
worldwide, including the Automotive, Nuclear, and Personal
Protective Apparel segments.
The Company continues to make strides in its commercialization efforts
toward the nuclear industry and is confident of success. The
OTI-MICROBasix nuclear team has increased the visibility of this
technology through its focused marketing efforts, customer visits,
industry meeting attendance and technical presentations. Since
successfully completing the technology demonstrations last quarter in
Nevada, there has been a very positive response from the nuclear industry.
Based on the industry requests and the feedback received, the ``Certified
Soluble'' product line has been expanded this past quarter to include
several additional products. Customer relationships are building and
involvement from both the government and private sectors is excellent,
with product evaluations continuing at several facilities.
OTI customers are innovative
market leaders who require performance products and recognize a
need for economic, environmentally beneficial options to reduce,
eliminate and manage waste.
